One-on-One Coaching
I offer one-on-one coaching for individuals separating or divorcing. While each session is tailored to your unique circumstances, the categories below describe how I can help in specific situations that you may be dealing with right now.
-
As an American who has lived in France for more than two decades, I know that divorcing in a foreign country adds an extra layer of challenges and complications–as does divorcing a spouse of a different culture.
I help expat, long-term residents in foreign countries, and cross-cultural couples who are divorcing or separating understand the unique issues that can come up in an international context and help bring awareness to different cultural perspectives and misunderstandings.
-
You’re at your limit but you’re still not sure whether divorce is right for you? I can help think you through this critical decision by examining the reason your thoughts lean toward divorce, weighing your options, and visualizing and reality-testing alternate paths.
-
Are you struggling to understand your (ex)spouse or co-parent? Are they struggling to understand you? Sometimes the noise of emotion–whether hurt, anger, guilt, fear or grief–can prevent divorcing couples from communicating effectively. I can help you develop communication and emotional management techniques that allow you to focus on the critical issues and be heard, as well as hear your ex better. Improved communication can help you reach resolution faster with less conflict and stress.
-
It is not always possible to have a low-conflict divorce, as much as you may want one. Let me help you develop strategies to protect your mental and emotional health and prevent an escalation of hostilities even as you advocate for yourself and your children. Let’s get you divorced with the least amount of damage possible.
-
Many divorce fears are rooted in becoming financially unstable, particularly for women. These financial fears can (understandably!) keep many people in an untenable, unhappy situation. I can help you better understand your financial situation, create a realistic budget, manage your expectations, prepare for meetings with financial experts, and generally help you explore options for finding financial independence and a healthy financial future.
-
Although I no longer practice law and do not give legal advice, I can help identify issues that you may want to raise with your lawyer, as well as discuss and consider issues your lawyer has raised. My legal knowledge is a cost-effective way of getting support while carefully thinking through your legal options.
-
You’re trying to find your way to this new way of being a family and discovering the healthiest solutions possible for your children. I can help you think through the best (and most realistic) options for your family as well as work on your communication and collaboration skills.
-
The divorce is done and dusted, but you’re still struggling with your relationship with your co-parent or find yourself firmly stuck in the past. Let me help improve relations with your co-parent and you find your way to a new way of being that is even better than before!

After those initial three sessions, you're free to book individually or in a package as desired.
