The Divorce Coaching Process –Frequently Asked Questions

  • Step 1: Schedule a free 30-minute consult to discuss your situation and what you’re looking for from coaching. I’ll explain more about how we might work together and how I can support you. This is meeting is completely confidential and absolutely no pressure.

Step 2: If you feel ready to work together, you’ll sign my Coaching Agreement, pay your invoice, and we’ll schedule our first session on Zoom. We’ll discuss your situation in deeper. Because real growth takes more than one conversation, please note that I require all new clients to book the 3-session, 55-minute package. Three sessions allows us to calmly unpack the complexity of your situation and begin to set achievable, actionable goals and targets.

Step 3: After the initial three sessions, feel free to book as needed. You may find weekly coaching most beneficial, or a monthly check-in may suffice. It’s also possible to receive more intense support–with text, email support, and more in addition to coaching–to help you through a particularly difficult phase. Contact me to discuss my retainer services to find the solution that works best for you.

  • In each coaching session, we’ll generally discuss your divorce concerns and recent happenings, then we’ll focus on advancing the issue you feel needs immediate priority. I will be your guide, helping you examine the issue from multiple angles, consider your options, and define achievable actions steps. You will come away from every session with a clear of idea of the next steps you can take to advance or resolve the issue.

  • Nope. While I do provide emotional support, therapists tend to explore the past by looking at why certain situations occurred and help you resolve deep emotional issues.

As a divorce coach, I help you set clear goals and create practical strategies that address specific divorce-related challenges. Even when we dive into emotional issues and behavioral patterns, it’s with an eye toward helping you make wiser choices in your divorce journey rather than trying to resolve the underlying issue.

  • I am a former lawyer, but I do not and cannot offer legal advice as I’m not authorized to practice family law in France.

That said, you will get the benefit of my legal mindset and understanding of legal processes as you weigh your options. For example, I can help you look at the bigger picture, think strategically, and spot potential legal issues you might not have considered so you can make smarter, more informed decisions. My legal background can also help you understand and more effectively communicate with your lawyer, saving you time, money and frustration.

  • Divorce coaching can be helpful for anyone, but especially if:

You want to approach your divorce with balance, dignity, and as little conflict as possible…even while firmly standing up for yourself.

You want to make considered, informed decisions…even when you’re itching to react out of fear, hurt, guilt, or anger.

You would like to be proactive and engage in flexible thinking and introspection…even when these thoughts feel uncomfortable.

You want to work toward a future where you’re happy and thriving…even if you can’t see it yet.
